With A Special Emphasis

On Boundary County Idaho

Preview:

Throughout this book, you will learn about the good ole fishing holes that only the local guys and gals know about, while Uncle Bud guides you on a fun-filled journey full of humorous stories and numerous tips to help you become acquainted with our North Idaho.

A well known man about town here in Boundary County, Uncle Bud reveals the secrets he found over the years during his travels and exploration of the Idaho Panhandle. Including those hard to find fishing holes filled with several species of trout, bass, catfish, yellow perch, crappie and blue gill, as well as everything else our great outdoors has to offer the angler in North Idaho.

Other topics will include information for the young anglers, such as how important it is for them, and us adults, to learn that fishing is not only about having fun, it is also about the sportsmanship we should all practice. "I truly believe our youth are this nations’ true natural resource, hence the emphasis throughout this book is tuned toward teaching our youth how to fish."

Uncle Bud has spent many years writing about the trips and exploration of the five northern counties where the wildlife is abundant and the fish practically jump onto your hook. However, he also spent just as much time working with Fish and Game to help protect and preserve our local habitat and the lifestyle we enjoy in this area of the United States. Although he is not an over the top conservationist, he does know and appreciate how important it is to protect and preserve the fish and wildlife habitat for future generations.

To the fly fishermen and women...no disrespect in the lack of reports on fly fishing in this book. Uncle Bud is a dyed in the wool bait caster who truly respects and admires the art of mastering fly-fishing. However, he says he would rather go cross-eyed watching a bobber than be tangled up in a bunch of line.

This book contains four sections; Uncle Bud provides seasonal guidelines and tips for fishing year round in this region of Idaho. Even when the snow is six feet deep, he might be found ice fishing on some lake or stream, so as he shares his insights and humor about these excursions, keep in mind that he offers great advice for both the novice and expert anglers who want to fish all year long.
